 Metco's two-piece driveshaft safety loop is custom-designed to fit the floor pan of the 1993-2002 Camaro & Firebird. The loop is designed to replace the factory floor pan brace located just behind the tailshaft of the transmission, so no drilling is required for installation. Additionally, the loop can be installed while the driveshaft remains in place. The loop is CNC-bent for precise fit and manufactured in an oversize dimension to accommodate lowered vehicles and aftermarket driveshafts. The finished loop is powdercoated bright red and packaged with installation instructions and Grade 8 hardware.
Note: In some applications equipped with aftermarket headers and Y-pipes, modifications may be necessary for installation. Precision-machined aluminum spacer blocks are now included that can be installed between the mounting bracket and the floor pan, the mounting bracket and the loop, or both to gain additional clearance for aftermarket exhaust systems
